Planning Applications
Scarborough Borough Council or the North York Moors National Park Authority, as appropriate, consult the Parish Council on most planning applications that originate in the Parish. These are considered by the Parish Council at its monthly meetings. Comments and any recommendations are forwarded by the Clerk for consideration by the relevant planning committee, together with representations made by members of the public or other organisations. Although the Parish Council has no statutory powers in the planning processes its local knowledge means that it can still make a contribution to the decision-making processes.
The planning processes are transparent, with all plans and documents relating to each application being published on Scarborough Borough Council’s website or the National Park's website as appropriate.
